Time To Think About Offseason Changes. Here Is My Suggestion:

Alright, now that I've had a little time to settle down about the Celtics being ousted from the playoffs it's now time to focus on what off season changes need to be made. First, in my opinion we need and needed a backup small foward and a different backup center besides Mikki Moore, he can go. What I think should happen is what I thought we should have done for the most part last off season, but just like the Celtics and a lot of Celts fans were saying, we didn't need to interupt the chemistry too much. I agreed, but now I think it needs to be changed...

Here is what I think we should do realistically:

We resign Stephon Marbury for veteran minimum (I think he'll be a lot better going through the preseason and given more time).

We resign either restricted free agent, Leon Powe or Big Baby and let one go. (I really like both, so it's really tough for me to choose which one stays or goes).

We really missed that James Posey guy, so now we sign who I thought we should have signed before the season and that is Matt Barnes. His game is almost identical to Posey's and he's a little younger and is a more energy guy. We sign him for part of the MLE and we now have a solid backup for Paul Pierce.

Now we trade Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine to Charlotte for Raja Bell. We let Eddie House go. Trading for Raja Bell gives us a solid lock down defender coming off the bench and Bell can also knock down that 3-point shot.

Lastly, we let Mikki Moore go also and sign maybe Drew Gooden or Kwame Brown (or someone else...these are my picks) for another part of the MLE. I know a lot of you are saying Kwame is a bust, but either way he is a big body and still an upgrade at backup center than what we have. Drew Gooden would be my first choice probably because he can be more of a contributor even though his natural position might be power forward.

After all this, Boston's roster would look like the following:

PG - Rajon Rondo, Stephon Marbury, Gabe Pruitt

SG - Ray Allen, Raja Bell, J.R. Giddens

SF - Paul Pierce, Matt Barnes, Bill Walker

PF - Kevin Garnett, Powe or Davis

C - Kendrick Perkins, Drew Gooden or Kwame Brown

This is exactly what I think should happen. It's realistic and it drastically improves our bench and defense. Please comment.
